Fire Training Can Be Very Serious Fun
Firefighters with Central Hardin Fire Rescue participated in a unique training session on the evening of April 21 2010. Asst. Chief Tom Williams and Lt. Carlus Sallee ran 150’ of 1 ¾” fire hose throughout playground equipment at Lincoln Trail Elementary School. As firefighters prepared to navigate the ready-made obstacle course, Asst. Chief Williams applied two layers of Glad Press-N-Seal to their masks. Though light filtered through their masks, the firefighters approached the course completely blind. This scenario provided a combination of PPE, SCBA, Confined Space, and Search & Rescue training.
