A three-alarm structure fire kept Elizabethtown firefighters on the scene for six hours extinguishing flames and conducting overhaul.  The fire began in the kitchen of the single-family residence at 414 North Main Street and was contained to the rear of the structure and the attic.  The first and second floors both sustained smoke damage.  Central Hardin Fire Department provided mutual aid.

The call was dispatched at 9:46 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2006.  Occupants left the home without injury, but one firefighter was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital for heat-related concerns.  Elizabethtown Police Department responded for traffic control.  Hardin County Ambulance Service was also at the scene.
